Following its scandalous decision, the Electronic Media Council (VEM) published a comparative table of all bids for the former Radio 101 concession, from which it is clear that the TOP radio bid was not the best. Not only was it not the best, but it should have been disqualified.

As VEM has previously announced, all offers have met the formal legal requirements, which include the assessment of technical, personnel, and financial conditions and compliance with the provisions and regulations in the Republic of Croatia.

Already in this position, VEM misjudged the offer of TOP radio because the owner of this radio, Ivan Jurić Kaćunić, does not respect the detachments and regulations in the Republic of Croatia, such as the payment of taxes and contributions.

There is also a well-founded suspicion of hiding ownership, which has been written about for years without success.

Kaćunić was the owner or member of the management board of a large number of companies that were forced into bankruptcy, and for which debts for taxes and contributions remained, which VEM is probably obliged to take care of, but obviously does not want to. We will list all the companies that went bankrupt and are related to Kaćunić.

  1. Go media house (was director and owner)
  2. Tahia projects (was director)
  3. Zana festival (was director and owner)
  4. Xara- Rijeka (was director and owner)
  5. Primum media (was director and owner)
  6. Tahia digital (was director and owner)
  7. Zana project (was director and owner)
  8. Pro vox media (was director and owner)
  9. Capital FM (was director and owner)
  10. Media universal (was director and owner)
  11. Mega digital (was on the supervisory board)

The total amount of debts that went bankrupt thanks to Kaćunić and his team is more than three million euros, but that was not a sufficient motive for VEM to prevent such business in the future.

It is interesting that VEM sharply resented Radio 101 for the existence of debts for taxes and contributions, which they pay with difficulty but still pay, and benevolently looks at it through the fingers in the cases of Ivan Jurić Kaćunić’s companies.

On Friday, Media daily called on VEM members not to hide behind a secret ballot, but to publicly and individually explain their decision, which they have not done so far.

The Ministry of Culture and Media did not say a word about the whole case.
