Kitchen TV, the only domestic culinary TV channel, left the regional framework and became an international brand – from June 11, the Turkish state operator Turksat Kablo TV, one of the largest operators in this country with several million users, included it in the basic TV offer channel.

Otherwise, the program Kitchen TV, which is entirely dedicated to the best Balkan food, drink, live entertainment, cooking, nutrition, tourism, culture, and tradition, but also healthy lifestyle habits, can also be enjoyed by the viewers in Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Slovakia. Until February 2023, it was also offered by Telecom Serbia.

Siniša Đokić, director of Kitchen TV, points out that by signing a contract with the Turkish state cable and satellite TV operator, this channel proved that it is possible to market local TV content outside national and regional frameworks if it is of high quality and interesting.

“This is the first time that any cable TV channel from Serbia is broadcast in Turkey. Kitchen TV is the only TV channel that originated from these areas and experienced this type of internationalization. The very fact that Turkey is one of the most populous countries in this part of the world, with a huge diaspora in Europe and a strong influence on the surrounding Asian countries, Turkey is also a big market for all kinds of goods, so I believe that Serbian, as well as businessmen from the region, will find interest in advertising on the channel to grow into a strong, international TV brand, which will gradually add content from other national cuisines, not just from the Balkans, as before. The next step is to digitize the program by creating an OTT platform, and the content will be available in several languages,” emphasizes Siniša Đokić.
