SloveniaMedia daily, the only regional specialized portal for the media and telecom industry, will once again conduct its 6th independent selection of the best and most professional news portals in six countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, and North Macedonia).
Evaluating excellence, quality of journalism, and user experience, this year we will choose from 20 pre-selected portals. The editorial staff of Media daily still believes that there is a noticeable decline in the quality of the portal, above all in their professional journalistic work, so we decided to deny them the opportunity to enter the circle of the best to strengthen the competition. The work of the news portal will be monitored and evaluated by our expert jury, and the portals will receive part of the points from the audience, i.e. readers. Last year, as many as 62,695 reader votes were received.
This year, for the same reason, we will not stick to the proportionality of the size of the country according to the number of candidates from it, but those who deserve it will be selected for the short selection, regardless of the country they come from. It is thus possible that some smaller states, which have better quality portals, have more candidates in the election than those that are larger.
The election for the best regional news portal, with the support of the sponsor Midas Network, will be conducted from November 1 to 30 (November), and the announcement of the winner and the ranking of all 20 portals will be announced on December 8, 2023, at 12 noon.
