There is a lot of symbolism in this photo, where I smile while standing on a bridge in the Piva Canyon in Montenegro, taken two months before this specialized media for the media was launched!
It was a time of enthusiasm when the editor-in-chief of the portal, Neven Šantić, and I traveled to all the ex-states where we agreed to work with colleagues and optimistically explained to them what it would look like, and how they would report to the Media daily. In four days, we have traveled more than 2000 km, spent a lot of time brushing the final appearance and content of the portal, and meeting our new associates. Along the way, we also passed the beautiful canyon of Drina, Tara, and Piva and promised to return there once again. I was thinking of doing it this year, in fact, I already paid for the rafting arrangement on Tara, but the pandemic has temporarily stopped this trip for now.
But the coronavirus did not stop Media daily, not even temporarily. At the beginning of our work in 2018, a noisy announcement and implementation of GDPR didn’t do so either. Admittedly, it has somewhat spoiled our growth plans because our fellow prospective subscribers were initially afraid to register on our portal so they could use 15 days of free surfing. You already know how loud the media was, at that time saying don’t give your information to anyone so that someone will not misuse it and then we show up and tell our readers if they will not give us your information, meaning if you do not register on the portal there is no free reading.
It cost us the wrong timing, but it didn’t kill us. And what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger! So we started with exclusive publications of the top lists of the largest media in the region by category, selection of the best regional web news portals, publishing media books like 25 years of private electronic media in Croatia, and preparing two more book projects, this time regional ones. We have strengthened our section of the media time machine, which is also unique, we have published a total of 7000 articles so far, and in addition to Croatian, our publications can be read in English. We write openly, vetted, and independent. We are opening up a good number of topics that have not been publicly opened by anyone else, although the gossip discusses them. These days you can also read our first series in 26 sequels on payments to the media from the Croatian state budget under the name MEDIA AND THE STATE. We are thinking of extending this topic to other countries.

The number of subscribers and visitors to the portal is growing, in the expert circles now everyone knows about Media daily and most importantly; the same zeal is still with us as it was on May 3, 2018, when we launched Media daily on Good morning Croatia on HTV 1 on World Press Freedom Day at 7.58 am!
Although the team has changed somewhat in these two years, I am very grateful to everyone who has participated or is still participating from the very beginning on this project. I want to say THANK YOU!
THANK YOU to all the subscribers, advertisers, and supporters of Media daily who are with us daily. THANK YOU to everyone else who has contacted us, voiced their words of support (and endeavors) or suggested topics, interlocutors, improvements … We remain open to any proposals that will be uncompromising for the benefit of professionalism, business ethics, social benefit, and raising standards profession.
The Piva River will continue to flow, as Media daily will continue to report on the work of the media and telecom industry. So happy birthday to us!
And yes! We are giving you, all today’s announcements, for FREE, and tomorrow you can already become our subscriber on favorable terms and be our loyal supporter.
